Maryland Fire Safety (Updated 4/5/2010)

Maryland:  URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Support Senator Joan Carter Conway's SB 556, which is superior to James Hubbard's HB 35 because it calls for the development of environmentally-friendly fire safety products while Deca-BDE is safely phased out. Hubbard's legislation, an immediate ban on Deca-BDE, would undermine a recent EPA agreement that safely phases out harmful products and develops effective alternatives. SB 556 passed through the Senate in late March, and will be heard in the House of Delegates on April 7th, 2010.
