Minnesota Fire Safety (Updated 2/19/2009)
Minnesota: Again this year, a ban on BFR’s is in the works. We anticipate that there will be hearings on this bill in the coming months. Of greater concern, there is an omnibus chemical bill that has surfaced that has the potential of being far more onerous and dangerous not just to fire fighters but to citizens in general. We are monitoring this bill in the hopes that we can bring together opposition to this if it develops. Of real concern is the impact this may have on some of the largest businesses in the state such as Target Corporation and others that will be forced to pull product from there shelves with no sensible alternatives yet available.
