Maine: In Maine this year the legislature was unable to enact legislation to implement the proposed phase-out of DECA. This is a positive step as we are looking to reverse the state’s position in the coming year. However, the law does not identify a safer alternative. This is a good example of flawed legislation. While this proposal is still sitting in Committee, it is bad public policy that is not based in science and proven variables.
